AGM 2025

Tomorrow is an AGM day and it would be great if all owners were able to make an appearance whether that be in person or on zoom as after all this is your Club.

The 2 motions I feel are very interesting for very different reasons and 2 nominations for committee.

BUT I'm looking forward to AGM 2026 when hopefully more owners may put their names forward for committee and as I intend to retire, hopefully I'll be in a position to throw my hat in the ring to support a Club that has meant so much to me over the past 47 years.

It would indeed be good if all paid up owners were allowed to be in attendance at the AGM instead of a significant number ( Term owners) being treated like lepers. A more blatant discrimination you could not get
however thats what LRHC has now become.
However people are not stupid and Term owners on reaching the end of their Tenure will most likely not renew to another term. No intelligent or self respecting person would tolerate this divisive treatment which was needlessly created at this time last year for no good or credible reason.
I wish you well, Stuart, on your future Commitee service on retirement. The club would benefit from forward thinking and experienced members on committee like yourself.
Unfortunately, this Term owner will not benefit from your future appointment because my Term ownership expires next Summer and due to the discrimination against all Term owners I will not be renewing to another Term and will never return to LRHC.
I do have connections in the Rannoch area and have done since when I lived and worked there years before the club was even built. Although I don’t live there now, I will always return for a visit. If you know where to go there’s far better options than expensive Air bnb accommodation or timeshare rental in the area.
Hope its a good AGM for all present

A few of the owners I spoke to at the AGM agreed about with your comments about term owners, but unfortunately not unlike our recent budget, shortsighted preparedness could become an issue.
When you take 130 weeks back to club in 2 years and only sell 100, as much as it is good we sold some, we are still technically in negative territory.
We also still don't know what the net profit is on sales.
This is something I asked last year and we still don't know.
So therefore until I see that figure rentals to me are not producing profit?

2 years of wages to " sales experts" in my opinion was a waste of owners money when we had someone else already there who was praised umpteen times by owners who only required an uplift on salary and a bit of encouragement possibly.

The bigger issue for me is and remains the purchase of a property by a committee member from the staff member which appears to have been disclosed very late in the transaction.
As i suggested at AGM if this results in £40k income for the Airbnb it has then cost the club potentially £40k in rental income which as pointed out is important to the club.
Also bear in mind the manager of said Airbnb was an ex employee of club who just happens to be the spouse of another club employee in an important position.
This transaction has created mistrust of the people involved and for the committee member who has waxed lyrical of their love of the village and the locals, very contradictory.
This is a Conflict of interest and under our rules and the Companies act, this committee member if they had any scruples would step down and if not, forced to resign.
I also and again is my opinion, not trust the staff member.
Hope that the committee revisit this as it is storing up later issues.

Interesting, however a significant number of owners are completely uninformed of what happened at the AGM.
These are Term owners who have been stripped of most of their rights including attendance at the AGM or proposing or voting on a resolution.
The club has decided to treat Term owners in an unacceptable discriminatory manner and without any credible explanation of why this has come about.
Of course maybe the Committee will fully inform all club owners of the AGM results etc at the earliest opportunity . It wouldn’t be clever not to considering that all owners which includes Term owners pay substantial subscriptions to the club. Why some of these owners are being blatantly discriminated against is beyond my logic.
No wonder that many local residents have a deep mistrust of LRHC and in particular for those who
are responsible for its management
In the meantime the AGM remiains a mystery to many fully paid up owners

The two things I didn t ask which maybe I should have, and I don't recall it said, was in relation to members.

It would be interesting to know how many term members there are at club and secondly out of the 100 new sales in the last 2 years, how many were term membership?

One of these questions which will probably never be answered.
I do know however, that when the 2026 AGM takes place there will definitely be at least 1 Term owner less than this year
