Having stayed from Saturday 5pm through to Thursday 7am, I was initially given an electricity bill for £75.12.
Having disputed the high level of this bill, it was reduced to £49.79. Then I asked for a detailed breakdown as this still seemed high. Eventually, my bill was determined at £21.55, which seemed more in keeping with my usage. Moral of the story is CHECK your bill and ask for EVIDENCE.
Electricity charges
This happened to us a few years ago and when we refused to pay the bill they said they would speak to the manager. We were able to produce our bills from previous years and lo and behold the amount was reduced to an acceptable amount.Makes you wonder whether they are they reseting the meter after each visit?
I actually thought that at some point excess Electricity Charges were so frequent and complaints so high from Owners that a decision had been made that on each entry date Owners were handed Electricity Figure for their H/L and on Day of Departure Final Elec Figure was noted by Staff and copy handed to Owner with Elec Units used shown, this enabled owners to clearly see if they were being overcharged. This seem to work quite well until the Rogue Committee from pre-Covid period started treating LRHC as their personal Fiefdom and changed all manner of things without consulting owners. Perhaps it's time to restart that less some slip back into old bad habits?

I've been reading on booking.com and Google reviews on numerous occasions about the cost of electricity.
The common answer to their " grievance" also called feedback is, it would appear always the same which is " as an exchanger or owner you pay higher costs due to the high cost for area".
This posed a question for me on renters who pay for electricity as part of their rental and after asking what the net profit was on rentals at AGM which nobody knew, I thought this must be an easy one to answer.
What percentage or proportion of the rental fee is apportioned to the electricity?
In the summer people tend to use less electricity unless using sauna, but in the winter as someone stated" it cost £200".
So if a renter uses much more electricity because they don't pay extra compared to an owner, are owners bearing this cost and with the lack of clarity, I am hoping this question is easy to answer.
Does any owner have an answer to this question or even the office with an explanation?

Trying to understand this reply.
We started to charge the renters for electricity from end of Dec 2024 as a levy.
So how or by what method did the club calculate the charge for electricity up until this point for renters if there was no levy or allocated monies?
And did owners or the Club subsidise renters prior to this levy?
