UNSPOILT AND UNCHANGED

Loch Rannoch Highland Club lies on the traditional main route north to the west coast of Scotland, known famously as the Road to the Isles. However, major road construction in the 19th century has bypassed it leaving the area unspoiled and unchanged.

The Club consists of 85 attractive, pet friendly lodges all with conservatories or patios and stunning views across the loch to the majestic mountains of Glencoe.

The village of Kinloch Rannoch is a good place from which to start exploring the Clan Trail. A series of interesting story boards have been placed at accessible points around the loch shore that tell the fascinating tales of clans prominent in the district before the 19th and 20th centuries. There is also a Crannog (artificial island) near the far west of the loch which was used in the 18th century as a base for outlawed members of the MacGregor Clan.

The surrounding Rannoch area offers excellent walking, from woodland paths in Rannoch Forest and quiet loch side rambles to the dramatic wild peaks and cross country routes of the Great Moor of Rannoch.

Well located hideaway Was offered a stay here as an act of kindness from a friend who is a member. Check in was well organized and basics left for us in the apartment, which was cleaned and tidied to a high standard. Stunning views from the enclosed balcony, this apartment in the ‘Otter’ section had all the equipment and appliances we needed for our stay. Pets welcome, which was appreciated by my wife and I, as well as our two wee eager dogs. Location is outstanding, with plenty of walks and trails nearby. Fishing by permit is available and local towns of Aberfeldy and Pitlochry are a short scenic drive away. Area appears great for cyclists. Drinks available at adjacent local hotel. Only critical comment would be the apartment we were in is in need of a refresh, as it’s a bit tired looking. That said, overall, highly recommended.

Just absolutely superb ….. What a wonderful stay. Booked for two weeks in a lodge facing the Loch with rear of the lodge looking onto the mountain providing total seclusion. Very quiet with the regular morning visit from local sheep which insisted on pooing right outside my building. Excellent paths to walk with a small local village.

Simply wonderful - peaceful, beautiful and dog friendly Simply amazing. We’ve just returned from a weekend break and it was everything we wanted it to be. Remote, peaceful and recuperating. We went as a family including a 1 year old and a dog and stayed in a one bedroom apartment (Otter Lodge). We had the best view out of a room I’ve ever had. The apartment was spotless clean with all amenities you needed. Ours was a little dated in terms of decor, but still great. And I spied a few of the newly renovated ones and they look gorgeous. I was totally impressed to learn the place is a none-for-profit so all money goes back into improving the facilities and total room renovation is in place. We went to the hotel for lunch one day and found staff friendly and welcoming. Food was typical pub grub. There’s a spa with pool - book appointments in advance and a marina/ leisure centre with loads of activities to do. We spotted a few kayaks in use. It’s a 10 minute walk on a gravel path into the small town where there is another hotel with restraint and bar, a tearoom and little shop. I’d recommend to all and definitely will go back! So impressed - thankyou for a lovely memorable trip.

Gladly again We came as a family of 4, our first holiday in 2 years. After a brief moment of confusion, Graham and his team helped us in an incomparable way. We are in a large apartment with 2 bedrooms, far enough away to let the children be children and the adults be adults. The furnishings are excellent, high quality and state of the art. It is very clean, which is something I personally pay a lot of attention to. We have a direct view of the lake from the north-east side. In the basement there is a bathroom and a sauna next to the bedroom. My daughter has been using the reliable WiFi very intensively since she arrived ;). All in all, a very nice place to stay. Many thanks to the whole team at Loch Rannoch Highland Park and keep it up. Best regards, Carsten
