UNSPOILT AND UNCHANGED

Loch Rannoch Highland Club lies on the traditional main route north to the west coast of Scotland, known famously as the Road to the Isles. However, major road construction in the 19th century has bypassed it leaving the area unspoiled and unchanged.

The Club consists of 85 attractive, pet friendly lodges all with conservatories or patios and stunning views across the loch to the majestic mountains of Glencoe.

The village of Kinloch Rannoch is a good place from which to start exploring the Clan Trail. A series of interesting story boards have been placed at accessible points around the loch shore that tell the fascinating tales of clans prominent in the district before the 19th and 20th centuries. There is also a Crannog (artificial island) near the far west of the loch which was used in the 18th century as a base for outlawed members of the MacGregor Clan.

The surrounding Rannoch area offers excellent walking, from woodland paths in Rannoch Forest and quiet loch side rambles to the dramatic wild peaks and cross country routes of the Great Moor of Rannoch.

Very helpful/accommodating staff! Ive never written a review where ive had 2 complately different views of the same place.....We stayed at the highland club for new year. We booked with another family and each booked one of the studios. On arrival, we were unfortunately very disappointed to see how tiny the studios are. I realise the term studio indicated it would be a 1 room accommodation but we hadn't appreciated how small and didn't see the small print that both beds are pull out beds! We had the worst nights sleep I've had in years and up most of the night due to thin, lumpy mattresses. We had been planning to have a family hogmanay celebrations with our friends and woke up an new years eve feeling truly depressed at the thought of another 2 nights in there! We spoke to reception and the manager the next day however, and I have to admit that they were so helpful and understanding and despite being new years eve, were able to arrange a solution within about 30min! Due to this excellent customer service, our whole stay changed from being bleak at the thought of us all being cramped into a tiny room and not getting any sleep and honestly just feeling miserable about the whole situation, into a fantastic, fun and very comfortable, relaxing family getaway! The accommodation could definitely do with some modernisation, it's like walking back into the 70s! But it's clean, well equipped and comfortable.... unless your in the studios. My advice would be that they should be advertised as accommodating 2 people and add an actual bed in those. The views are simply stunning of course and the glassed in balcony gives the perfect viewing! I think we would return but it would be nice to see some sprucing up of the decor to keep up with other similar accommodation around scotland and the Highlands. Very grateful to the staff and management for all their help. The local village is lovely and friendly locals.

Perfect place Just returning after a weeks holiday with the family. It’s been just brilliant. Lodge had all we needed, including a sauna (which we didn’t use. The views from the lodge over the Loch were superb. The children enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding. We were blessed with the weather but then they also enjoyed the climbing wall and games room. Bliss for adults to be able to relax while they enjoyed the outdoors. access to the hotel swimming pool was a great bonus too. 😁😁

Just gets better Lodge we stayed in was recently remodelled , whoever designed it did a great job. Kitchen had everything we needed , lodge had plenty of space and beds were comfortable. Grounds were immaculate except for sheep droppings , why they congregate outside my lodge I do not understand. If it’s peace and quite you’re looking for combined with country walks surrounded by beautiful scenery this is the place. If you plan to stay make it a long stay , you’ll thank me for the advice.

Fantastic week Fantastic week in HL41. It has been completely refurbished and even has a jacuzzi bath! It has all appliances you would need to cook in the lodge or reheat things you have brought from home. The conservatory has uninterrupted views of Loch Rannoch and Schahallion. Had a paddle board lesson through Loch Rannoch Adventures. Excellent teacher Tom. Staff all very efficient and helpful. Big thanks to Richard the manager who is just what was needed to run this club. Well worth a visit if you like the outdoors.

Views to die for Booked for two nights for an impromptu break. Check-in although rather late (5pm) was smooth and staff very helpful. The location for us was perfect, tranquil and truly beautiful. The allocated parking proved to be tricky as we had to negotiate a tight narrow hairpin bend. The space for the car was very tight and not much room for other cars to get past so we were glad that we brought the small car otherwise we would have really struggled with the larger one. We stayed in Red Deer 6 accessed by some stairs. Our lodge although a bit dated, was perfect, well-equipped and spotlessly clean. The glassed-in balcony was very roomy and provided the most spectacular views over Loch Rannoch and the mighty Schiehallion. Glad that we brought our own food as there aren't many shops locally. There is no petrol station locally so make sure that you have plenty of fuel as the nearest station is in Aberfeldy, a 16-mile drive, Overall, we enjoyed our stay and were able to relax and take in those beautiful views, I would certainly return.

A true country retreat Our third stay, this time three weeks. You know you had a good time when three weeks is not enough. Management seem to have made lots of improvements , our lodge was perfect for us with fully fitted kitchen modern smart TV , decent WiFi and incredibly quite . Sheep seem to think they own the grounds and grazed as they liked. We had a little snow while we were there which made it even more scenic.I fully recommend an extended stay . You won’t get bored and you won’t want to leave either.

great find We have just returned after a great stay in a studio here with my family and all I can say is it was great value for money, amazing view and very friendly staff, a real get away from it all experience at very reasonable cost. We actually now in the process of becoming members at this resort as they offer great 5 year membership options for the fraction of the price of a rental. Highly recommended

Wonderful family break. Had 3 Lodges to accommodate our family. Celebrating a 'momentous' birthday. Lodges were clean and extremely well kitted out. Had problems with hot water and maintenance came out within 5 minutes to repair late Sunday afternoon. No complaints at all and would highly recommend. Swimming can be pre booked at hotel spa. We had pool to ourselves for the 10 of us. No extra fee was paid. Hopefully lucky with weather.
